Royal Naval Dockyard was the principal base of the Royal Navy in the Western Atlantic between American independence and the Cold War. In 1957 most of the base closed down and the dockyard became a major port of entry into the island. The keep area is now the site of the Bermuda Maritime Museum and the Dolphin Quest attraction.

The peninsula of Portland is located in the south of England. Portland Harbour, since it's inception was home to a Royal Navy base until 1995 and is still one of the biggest man-made harbours in the world, and was used as part of the 2012 Olympic Games. The area is also known for Portland Stone, a special stone quarried here used in St Paul's Cathedral and United Nations Headquarters. Dover is a historical port town in Kent, South East England. The town is located at the narrowest part of the English channel, looking over the strait of Dover towards France. Its spectacular, extraordinary chalky white cliffs are for many immigrants their first glimpse of the UK. The cliffs, along with the imposing hilltop 12th century Dover Castle and its secret wartime tunnels leave visitors awe-struck, with much to ponder long after they leave.
