Kingston is the capital of Norfolk Island, an Australian island of volcanic origin which lies on the Pacific Ocean. It is the second oldest town in all of Australia, holding great historical value for the island. Once a convict settlement, to this day you can explore the ruins of their stone buildings. The friendly locals welcome visitors and speak their own language, a mix of colonial English and Tahitian. The island is only 35 square kilometres, and over 5 square kilometres are covered by the protected National Park. The park includes scenic walking trails and botanical gardens, where you can truly appreciate the stunning nature of Norfolk Island. Surrounded by pristine beaches, this island is the definition of untouched natural beauty.
