Itinerary

As the seat of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament and the European Court; Strasbourg is one of the most important centers of the European Union. The French city is located near the border with Germany, therefore much German influence can be seen throughout, particularly through the architecture of the city. Of particular interest is the Old Town, which is a World Heritage site, and the Cathedral Square, one of Europe's most beautiful city squares. Due to the numerous channels that meander through the city and the picturesque half-timbered houses, the city offers a unique charm to visitors.

Depart 07:00

Nijmegen, with its 163,000 inhabitants near the border of the Lower Rhine region of Germany. The 13th Century St. Stevenskerk church is one of the attractions, as well as the National Cycle Museum and Valkhof archaeology museum.

The city of Krefeld is located on the Lower Rhine, north-west of Düsseldorf and has approximately 235,000 inhabitants. Krefeld has several museums, such as for example the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Museum and the Long House, which was built in Bauhaus. Of particular interest is the Linn Castle, a castle of the 12th Century. Furthermore, visit Krefeld Park, the botanical gardens and Hülser Krefeld Zoo.

The city lies the Rhine, at the foot of the Seven Mountains. Königswinter has the oldest nature reserve in Germany and the city has a population of about 40,000. It is known as the site of the Federal Guest House, where national and international conferences took place. Königswinter is an ideal starting point for a trip to the Seven Mountains, a visit to the monastery or a trip to Heisterbach Dragon Castle.

The city of Rüdesheim is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, and is one of the most popular tourist areas of Germany. Besides the beauty of the city, Rüdesheim is known for its excellent wine, which can be tasted in one of the many wine bars. The town has many interesting landmarks of note including Niederwalddenkmal, a commemoration of the end of the Franco-Prussian War, which invites spectacular views of the city. Seilbahn Rüdesheim offers a cable car ride up the mountain and towards the Niederwalddenkmal and over the vineyards boasting wonderful sights so have your camera at the ready.

Mannheim is a typical university town in Baden-Württemberg and lies on the Rhine. In addition, the city offers numerous museums, historical and religious buildings. Particularly impressive is beautiful and the castle of the Elector Palatine, which is the second largest Baroque building in Europe.
