In the 15th Century, it was still a small fishing village but it has been growing over the centuries. Local attractions include the sunken crater with a lagoon, the beaches of Papagayo, the Mirador del Rio and one of the longest lava tubes in the world.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is one of the capitals of the Canary Islands. The many cafes and seating areas invite tourists to relax and enjoy observing the hustle and bustle of the city. Tenerife is also home to the third highest island volcano on Earth, Mount Teide.
