The Panama Canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans together. The Peruvian capital Lima is also the largest city in the country. Together with the port city of Callao, it forms the so-called metropolitan area. Make sure not to miss the site of Pachacamac which is about 40 km south-east of Lima. This site dates back to A.D. 200 and was a religious site built before the Inca invasion of the area.

Easter Island is a small island located at the centre of the Pacific Ocean. Easter Island is classed as the most remote populated island in the world due to it's location. The island is especially known for the mystical Moai statues, which can be found there and are a definite must-see! Researchers estimate that there were about 1,000 of these statues originally. Easter Island is also home to an extensive National Park. Rano Raraku volcano is located in the National Park and was the quarry which provided the stone for the Moai statues.

Pitcairn is the main island of the Pitcairn Islands. The present inhabitants are for the most part descendants of the famous mutiny on the Bounty, where some of the crewship overthrew their Lieutenant and then sailed on the HMS Bounty ship to the Picairn Islands. From Chistian's Cave you will be able to enjoy a breathtaking view over the island and the sea. Pitcairn is located approximately 1,000 km from Tahiti and 3,000 km from New Zealand. With the location of Pitcairn and a population of around 50 people, visitors to Pitcairn are offered a unique opportunity to explore a remote tropical paradise.

Papeete is located on Tahiti, the largest in a chain of islands that make up French Polynesia. Rarotonga is the largest of the Cook Islands in the South Pacific. The island consists of volcanic mountains and is surrounded by a coastal strip. Rarotonga is the most built up and populous of the islands, meaning there is plenty to do but with no buildings taller than a palm tree, it maintains that laid back, exotic island feeling. Nuku'alofa is the seat of government of the Kingdom of Tonga, Oceania. The most famous attraction of the city is the royal palace of King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV.

Sydney is the capital of the state of New South Wales and is the largest city in Australia.
