A blend of the traditional and modernity makes Barcelona one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. With approximately 1.62 million inhabitants, Barcelona is also the second-largest city in the country. Among the attractions are the Nou Camp, Sagrada Família, Park Guell and the beautiful Las Ramblas promenade. In addition to the many cafés, tapas bars are found all around the city and provide a culinary highlight.

Cartagena is located in southeastern Spain. The port city has not only one of the largest ports in Spain, but also many historical buildings. Among the things to see are the ruins of the castle "Castillo de la Concepcion", which offers a great view of the city and surrounding areas.

Most visitors concentrate solely on the magnificent Alhambra, but if you explore further, you’ll find Andalucía’s hippest, most youthful city, with a ‘free tapas’ culture, innovative bars and intimate flamenco haunts.

The Strait of Gibraltar is a narrow strait that connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea. It also separates Gibraltar and Peninsular Spain in Europe from Morocco and Ceuta (Spain) in Africa. The Strait is an important shipping route from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic. The relatively short distance between the two shores has served as a quick hop-over point for various groups and civilizations throughout history, including Carthaginian campaigns against Rome and much more.

This British city is situated on the north bank of the Thames, next to a sea port and a fortress. Initially built to house railway and port workers, Tilbury became a major point of defense for England, along with neighboring town Gravesend, due to the narrowness of the Thames at this point. The forts constructed in Tilbury and Gravesend under Henry VII, due to this narrowness in the river, were of major importance as defenses during several wars, including during the Armada campaigns of 1588.
