To help speed up your pre-cruise packing process, keep in mind that most evenings have a ‘Cruise Casual’ dresscode. However, there are ‘Cruise Elegant’ evenings on one or two occasions where you can show your more elegant attire off. For such evenings, dress slacks, dress shirts or a suit and a tie are suggested for men. Women should pack cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses, or even an evening gown. Casual daytime attire includes shorts, summer dresses, bathing suits and coverups. Dress code is dependant on climates of your chosen destinations so make sure to pack sweaters (heavy sweaters for glacier visits), layers and rain attire for places like Canada and Alaska.
Carnival is known for being easy-going, so feel free to dress as casual as you like during the day. Evenings (from 5:30pm) call for a smarter attire, so check out the ship’s newsletter to see which of the two dress codes is required: ‘Cruise Casual’ or ‘Cruise Elegant’. Any kind of offensive or racist messages on clothing are not permitted.
Paying on board is cashless, get your Sail & Sign card and either connect your credit or debit card or deposit cash on to it on embarkation day. Connecting your credit or debit card to multiple Sail & Sign cards, for example for your kids, is also permitted.
Depending on the ship, you can buy pay as you go, bundled, per day or cruise Wi-Fi plans.
